Who is Atiba Newsome?

Atiba Newsome is a fashion stylist and one of the cast members of the new show "House of Glam" that premiered on the Oxygen Network yesterday. The show is about the B Lynn Group (an image agency for the entertainment industry) and their lives as stylists. Atiba seems to be the best stylist, so far. Want to know a bit more about Atiba?

Bleu: Okay Atiba so what was you big break in the fashion industry?

 

Atiba Newsome: I’d say my big break in the industry was when one of my best friends stylist, Eric Archibald, introduced me to his then boss June Ambrose and she let me intern with her.

 

Bleu: How did you link up with Bad Boy?

 

AN: I used to bump into Puff on different sets and at parties, he knew I worked for June and would always compliment me on certain things I was wearing. One day his assistant called me and offered me a job styling him and Kim Porter for Paris Fashion Week. I was afraid to work with him so I asked for way too much money, they passed but asked me again for the MTV Euro Awards a year later. I think it made him even more interested in me because I stood my ground.

 

Bleu: Favorite designers to use when styling?

AN: With men I like to use Public School, Alexander Herchcovitch, Philip Lim and if the budget allows, I’ll pull out the Tom Ford. And for women I use Alexander McQueen, Alexander Wang, Alice+Olivia and Givenchy.
